HKIRC launches its registry lock
Hong Kong Internet Registration Corporation Limited (HKIRC) launches a new Registry lock service for the extensions it manages: .hk, .com.hk, .公司.hk, .公司.香港 et .香港.
As a reminder, the registry lock allows blocking any transfer, WHOIS contact update or authoritative nameservers modification at a registry level. Actions of locking and unlocking domains obey to a specific procedure, determined by the concerned registry.
It is welcome news: this service, which is not provided by all the registries, is a major part of the arsenal available to domain name holders to guard against domain name hijacking. We discussed this matter in a previous article in March.
The official launch date of this new service is the 25th of April 2019.
IP Twins, accredited registrar with HKIRC, helps you with managing and securing your domain name portfolio. Do not hesitate to contact your dedicated account manager for further information on this matter.
