On March 30 2018, the French presidency announced that a complaint had been filed for identity theft. Several emails were sent from email@example.com impersonating the First Lady’s office.
The domain name presidence.fr is used by an art gallery located meters away from the Elysee Palace, and is actively used in relation to that gallery. Nevertheless, the technical setup of the domain does not appear to be secure, and a pirate was able to send e-mails form this domain name.
Several of these e-mails were sent to hotels, restaurants, and event to the Australian automotive federation, requesting services or invitations.
There are numerous ways to secure the sending of e-mails from you domain names.
Please do not hesitate to contact your account manager or firstname.lastname@example.org. We will be pleased to help you secure your domain.
