ALIBABA launches a new anti-counterfeiting platform

July 08, 2016

In early July 2016, the Chinese giant of e-commerce has announced the launch of IP Joint- Force System, a new platform intended to fight against the sale of counterfeited products.

Previously known as a haven for counterfeiters, the ALIBABA Group had received numerous complaints for its inaction, particularly from luxury goods manufacturers. This had also led to the suspension of IACC membership- International Anti-Counterfeiting Coalition, in May 2016.

This new platform should enable trademark holders to benefit from a dedicated ALIBABA portal. The stated aim is to facilitate the reporting of fraudulent contents and therefore, the removal of fraudulent ads.

This platform will likely be adjusted to have a positive impact in accordance with the stated aim. This will include a regular monitoring of the actions actually carried out by ALIBABA on the accounts.

IP TWINS will naturally stand by your side to effectively manage this new portal. Contact us for information on our dedicated anti-counterfeiting offer.
