In 2009, ICANN introduced the "Fast Track IDN ccTLD" program.
The acronym IDN stands for Internationalized Domain Name. This system authorizes to use non-Latin characters in the root of a domain name.
The purpose of the Fast Track program is to permit every country and territory to being able to open new ccTLDs in its own language and alphabet.
This week, 4 new IDNs join the list of IDNs and the 7 other Indian IDNs. Those 4 new IDNs hereunder mean India in the following 4 out of 18 Indian national languages :
