The New Zealand Registry, already managing 15 existing sub domains such as ORG.NZ or .CO.NZ, has announced the launch of domain names directly under .NZ. This move follows the decision of other Registries, such as Nominet for the .UK last June, to make possible the registration directly under the country code.
The launch has been announced for September 30th (New Zealand time).
Please note that during the first 6months, the owners of third level domain names (such as mydomain.org.nz or mydomain.co.nz) will have a priority to register (exact match only) their domains in .NZ or to block them for 2 years.
All details for the registration of .NZ domain names are available here.
