New Pirate Bay founder Anonymity Service

May 2, 2017

Pirate Bay founder Peter Sunde has launched an anonymous domain name service. The new service which opened for beta testing to a limited public on 20 April last is called NJALLA and is located there

Njalla is neither a domain registration service nor a traditional proxy service but is positioned between the registration service and customer guaranteeing the anonymity of the latter.

When a customer wishes to acquire a domain name anonymously, Njalla will purchase it on behalf of the customer but in her own name, conserve ownership and according to the agreement between both parties, grant the customer full usage rights to the domain.

According to the agreement, ownership rights to the domain will be transferred to the customer whenever he so wishes.

Traditional proxy services provide customer anonymity services in relation to the public but not in relation to domain registrars. Njalla however will provide a service by which the end user of the domain will remain anonymous even to registrars.

French registry AFNIC has warned of the dangers of the anonymity service as the user runs the risk of not being recognized as owner of his domain name with all the disadvantages that this entails.
